Cape Town Beach Wedding
Mystine & Greg
This Cape Town beach wedding. Where do we even begin? When you get to work with families as wonderful as these, work is most certainly not a job.
We first crossed paths with the Luyt’s a few years back when we did a family shoot for them at Groot Constantia. On the way home I clearly remember how we secretly wished those lovely boys would get married to their gorgeous girlfriends and that maybe we’d get to shoot their weddings. We had so much fun during the family shoot, and we just knew a wedding day would be fabulous!
And then the email came, Greg was marrying his beautiful Mystine. We were beyond thrilled that we would get the opportunity to document their love story.
Mystine & Greg have settled in Australia, but decided to come “home” to get married. And this really was home for Mystine. They had the most perfect intimate morning beach wedding just a few metres from Mystine’s family home in Scarborough. Mystine was the most beautiful bride. So natural and lovely with make-up done by her sister Summer. She literally floated across the dunes in her beautiful wedding dress made by her mom, Mandy to where Greg was waiting at the end of the aisle.
The weather and the setting could not have been more beautiful. And there amidst their nearest and dearest (and the odd surfer and beach goer) they promised forever to each other during their Cape Town beach wedding ceremony.
The breakfast reception followed at Monkey Valley Resort in Noordhoek. What a talented family Mystine has. Her mom did all of the stationery, flowers and décor with the gorgeous wooden items made by her dad. Summer’s boyfriend Storm (with names like these I am sure the universe made sure they ended up together!) did a great job on the finishing touches of the décor, running around, and playing dj on the day.
Gosh, the “father of the bride” speech! Mystine’s dad is a musician, and he’d recorded his own electronic guitar version of “Somewhere over the rainbow” which he played – WOW! From tears to laughter when Greg’s brother Brad did his speech!
What a day! Thank you Mystine & Greg for trusting us with your memories! We absolutely loved being part of your Cape Town beach wedding.
