Cape Town Engagement photoshoot

Laura & Emlyn

This Cape Town engagement photoshoot literally took our breath away in so many ways.    It was one of those shoots that you walk away from feeling really happy and content.  You just know that the photos are going to be amazing.

I can’t quite decide what it was that made the most impact.  But there definitely are a few things worth mentioning.  We had never met Laura & Emlyn until the day of the engagement shoot.  And there we were introducing ourselves to two really beautiful people.  It always makes us smile when our couples tell us they are so nervous about the shoot, because that’s usually a sign that it will be the complete opposite.  And yes, it WAS!  Laura and Emlyn were such naturals in front of the camera.

When we left home the wind was blowing gale force.  It was probably one the windiest days in Cape Town.  At one point during the morning, we were actually considering contacting Laura and Emlyn to postpone the shoot.  When driving through the centre of Cape Town our car was nearly lifted off the ground.  We were watching people literally hanging on to traffic lights for dear life so as not to get blown away!  We had our doubts as to how our shoot would pan out.We are spoiled for choice when it comes to locations for Cape Town engagement photoshoots.  Laura and Emlyn have a favourite sunset spot along the Pipe Track running along the edge of Table Mountain.  We had never shot there before.  All I can say is wow!  It made the most magnificent backdrop.  And best of all there was NO wind.  Not a breath!  We were looking down on Camps Bay and you could see the wind coming off the water down there.  It was actually quite uncanny!

We took a little walk along the Pipe Track stopping every so often when there was something that would make an interesting backdrop.  We really do stay in a beautiful city.  The views from the Pipe Track are amazing!  The light was gorgeous and so were our couple.  We made it back to the car park just as the sun was setting.  We enjoyed a glass of bubbly with Laura and Emlyn before heading off home.

Laura and Emlyn, it was so lovely spending time with you during your Cape Town engagement photoshoot.  We cannot wait for your wedding later this year!
