This Franschhoek elopement could not have been more perfect.  A glorious setting, a fun couple and a perfect summer’s day!  Added bonus, we finally got to work with the talented Louise from Runaway Romance!  If you are looking to elope (literally ANYWHERE) Louise is your lady – nothing too big or small she cannot organize, and she does this all with gusto and enthusiasm, yet brings a calmness to your day that is incredibly unique in this rat race we call life!

Megan and Raymond’s Franschhoek elopement was held at Fransvliet Guest House just outside the village.  Owned by renowned chef and author Shirley Guy and her hubby Joe along with their partner it was an absolute treat to enjoy a meal lovingly prepared by this fabulous lady.  We also got to savour some of Joe’s handcrafted wine and got some solid life lessons to go with it.

Amidst a beautiful rose garden surrounded by vineyards and mountains, Megan & Raymond promised to love each other forever in front of a handful of close family.  Their lovely little ceremony was followed by bubbly and canapes on the lawn.

What we really love about elopements is that you get to know the couple and their families much more intimately than you would on a regular wedding day.  The pace is slower and the timelines far more relaxed.  It’s about having the best time with your very nearest and dearest, and dedicating your time to just being “yourselves.”

We had all the time in the world to take a relaxed walk amongst the vineyards and create some memories with these two lovelies.  We don’t ask for much on a wedding day, but the two things that are critical to the outcome of your photos are time and good light.  And thanks to Louise’s perfect planning, we had both of these.
