Genna's Matric Dance

A matric dance is such a special time in a young girl’s life.  It’s probably the first time she’ll have her hair and make-up done professionally, splash out on a gorgeous dress and play model for a while.  It also marks the transition from school girl to young adult.  Such exciting times!

This matric dance was very special to us.  The last time we saw Genna, she was a mere seven years old.  A gorgeous little flower girl at her mom’s wedding.  We cannot believe what a beautiful young lady she has become.

Genna has a quiet demeanour and a gentle nature.  She is definitely a natural beauty.  And although she told us beforehand that she was totally uncomfortable in front of the lens, we beg to differ!  She and her lovely friend CJ totally rocked the shoot.We took a few photos at Genna’s home in Penhill  and then went through to Asara Wine Estate.  The gorgeous Stellenbosch mountains and the lovely old vintage car made the perfect backdrop for the rest of the photographs.

Quite a few other couples were also at Asara with friends and family, and there was such an exciting vibe for the anticipation of the big evening.
