Interior Photography McGregor

We love these interior photography jobs in McGregor! Thank you McGregor Country Getaways for making sure we’re able to visit our fav village now and again!  Even though we are “working” it still feels like a little break in the countryside!

This time around we photographed two very different properties during our stay in McGregor.  The first one was Dolce Vita.  This modern spacious open plan property is perfect for a family or a group of friends.  It comfortably sleeps six, but believe me, the space is so huge, you won’t even know you are sharing the house with other people!  The property size is definitely deceiving from the road, and only once you enter through the large modern front door do you realize the actual size.

The first beautiful space you encounter is the lovely sunken sun lounge.  In the morning the sunlight pours in here – just perfect for that first cup of coffee.  When the lazy summer days start to heat up, you can throw open the stacking doors to the little garden at braai area.  An in winter I can imagine lying curled up on the couch with a good book!

The downstairs bedroom is a lovely bright and cheery space with a door leading out into the garden.  Love the chaise lounge sofa which is just perfect for a reading spot or an afternoon nap.  There’s a beautiful spacious bathroom adjacent to the bedroom with both a bath and shower.  And how awesome are those double basins?

If you’re staying in this wing of the house, you can also opt for the upstairs loft bedroom.  It’s light and pretty!

The two bedrooms share a lovely common space in the form of a spacious lounge.  There’s a built in fireplace to keep you cozy in winter time and a lovely wine cooler to keep the bubbly chilled for the hot McGregor summer days.  A kettle for making tea and coffee is also available.

Passing through the sunken lounge, kitchen and entertainment area, there is another upstairs loft bedroom.  This one is pretty cool – yes, cool as it has an aircon, something very welcome in the Karoo heat, but cool because it’s really rad as well.  It has it’s own open bathroom with Victorian bath and all.

Well. We’ve been keeping the best for last.  The entertainment area is amazing!  The gas stove set in a huge island slab is a social place if you enjoy entertaining for your friends.  The dining and lounge area spills out onto the amazing patio, built in braai and the crystal clear glorious pool.

Plum Tree Cottage, the second property we photographed is quaint and rustic.  I can’t help imagine that this is the perfect place for a journalist or author to while away the days.  This is the kind of place you’d want to come and stay for a few weeks, not just a weekend.  It’s cozy and quaint with a gorgeous hearth for cold winter nights, but the  thick limestone walls keep it really cool in summer.  We can attest for this, as when we were shooting it was nearly 40 degrees celcius!  It honestly feels like a home away from home.

The indigenous garden is amazing, and the patio area outside on the little raised terrace really stole our hearts.  The perfect place to be a lounge lizard and read your book, and when it get’s too hot move under the shade of the vine covered patio.  This property is right on the edge of town, so you have uninterrupted views of the veld and mountains.  And when the sun starts to dip low, what better spot to light the fire for your evening braai.

Wait, there’s more!  Want your friends to come and visit during your getaway?  The good news is, they can!  There’s a comfy garden cabin too!
