Family Photo Shoot

This Lions Head family photo shoot was so much fun!  What a wonderful bunch of people all the way from Colorado in the USA.

They did a quick whistle stop tour of Cape Town before heading off to Botswana and Zimbabwe for some wildlife adventures.  Their fabulous guide Mel, from Africa Inbound has done such a great job of putting together this trip for them.

Carolyn contacted us a few months ago and booked us for their Lions Head Family photo shoot.  She’d seen a previous post of an engagement shoot we’d done up there, and she loved the scenery and golden sunlight on the grass.  The thing was, we got there only to find that, where the previous grassy areas had been, now just burnt out twigs remained due to recent fires.  Although, maybe not the picture Carolyn originally had in mind, the contrast in colour against the blue sky actually made for some quite unique scenery.

We loved the colour combo in their clothes too, and all the girls had been made extra pretty by the talented Minke du Plessis.

It’s not always easy photographing large groups of people, but these guys were so easy to work with.  And so enthusiastic too, which made our job a breeze.  We’d been super lucky with the weather.  In the morning it was chilly, overcast and misty with even a bit of rain threatening.  But my oh my, did things turn out perfectly for them.  Not a breath of wind up there, the sun came out, and some puffy clouds over our mountain.  What a stunning backdrop it all created.
