Robyn & Gavin

We met Robyn and Gavin quite a few years back through mutual friends. They are such a laid back and happy go lucky couple.  When Robyn and Gavin announced that they were expecting a little girl, we were so excited for them.  We were even more excited when they asked us to do a maternity shoot.  What an honour for us to document such an exciting time in their lives.

We met up with these two lovelies at the ruins of the East Battery perched atop a hill above Hout Bay to take their maternity photographs.  The views over the bay with the Sentinel standing guard in the background were just magnificent.

Robyn was such a natural in front of the camera.  Although Gavin had come initially come along for moral support only, he ended up in most of the photographs too.  And of course, this is how it should be!

What a lucky little baby this is going to be! Two lovelier people you could not ask for as parents.

Robyn gave birth to a beautiful little girl! Her daddy absolutely dotes over her.  We think that the furry members of the family who have taken prime position in the household up until now are going to have some strong competition.

WHO MADE THE WEDDING POSSIBLE?

• How beautiful Robyn and Gavin were and how special it was to witness the tenderness between them.
• The way the late afternoon light was doing a sun dance on the sandstone ruins creating a warm glow.
• How one should never take the miracle of new life for granted.
