Amalia & Willem

What an honour photographing beautiful Amalia and her hubby Willem during their Newlands Forest couple shoot.  It’s people like them that make us absolutely love doing what we do.

So much more than beautiful make-up and hair styling went into this day.  Amalia has walked a two year journey which has taken courage and persistence, but that is a story for another day, and one that I am sure she will share herself in due time.

Amalia is a talented hair stylist herself.  That is how our paths crossed.  Each time we saw each other, she would chat about how she would love to have a couple shoot done.  She followed us on social media, and always left such lovely comments on our posts.  We were absolutely elated when she finally  got in touch and we confirmed a date for her very own shoot.  I don’t think we’ve ever met anyone that has been so excited about a shoot before.

And oh how excited WE were too doing Amalia & Willem’s Newlands Forest couple shoot.

Amalia is just drop dead gorgeous, and a total natural in front of the camera.  And Willem has such a happy smile.  He is one of those guys you don’t have to keep ASKING to smile, it just comes naturally!

Newlands forest was a beautiful backdrop for our shoot.  Amalia wanted a moody, romantic look.  Although it got quite dark once the sun had dipped behind the mountain, the lighting was perfect for the look we were going for.  Because of the recent rains, the streams were running and everything was so green and lush.  We could have spent an entire day shooting there.
