Vrede en Lust wedding

Niki & Andrew

I knew this Vrede en Lust wedding would be fabulous from the moment I met Niki in a little coffee shop in Durbanville.  Not only are Niki and Andrew a gorgeous couple, but Niki spoke with such excitement about their wedding day.  Her eyes literally lit up!  And then of course, anyone who adores animals as much as Niki, automatically scores bonus points.  Niki and Andrew have a cat called Stella.   And even though Stella was thousands of miles across the ocean, it felt as if she was there.  Her name was on the gift wrapping, she was on the wedding cake, and she was very much part of the speeches – love it!

Niki & Andrew’s Vrede en Lust wedding was planned from their current home which is in Switzerland.  A quick visit to Cape Town was the only time Niki had to meet up with potential service providers.  We are so honoured that they chose us to document their special day.  We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding to kick off the crazy Cape Town wedding season.

Although it was a beautiful sunny day in the Cape winelands, the good old South Easter was blowing at full force!  But this did not make the smiles disappear or dampen the spirits. The ceremony took place outside with the gabled farm buildings and the Franschhoek mountains as a backdrop.  Afterwards guests enjoyed canapes in the pretty gardens under the huge oak trees.

The other star of the show was the cute little flower girl.  Although she was a little shy at first, by the time we took the bridal party photos, she was all smiles and poses – too cute!

The venue at Vrede en Lust is so beautiful.  With its glass sides, you almost feel as though you are right amongst the vineyards.  Niki and Andrew’s guests certainly knew how to party and a great time was had by all!

Thank you, Niki and Andrew for trusting us with your memories.  We so enjoyed being a part of your gorgeous Vrede en Lust wedding.
