Kyra & Andrew

This was our first time shooting a Webersburg wedding, and hopefully not our last.  What a magnificent setting.  Webersburg is an historic Cape Dutch estate and boutique winery nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch.  The wedding venue overlooks a lake and the views from the outside deck are incredible.  It’s a wonderful one stop shop for weddings.  The estate offers accommodation in various cottages as well as in the stately manor house.  The wedding ceremony can be held on site too, either outdoors or in the wine cellar.

Wedding photographers do not ask for much on the wedding day.  We’ve pretty much learnt to cope with anything that gets thrown at us.  This ranges from bad weather, uncooperative couples, challenging backdrops and time constraints.  What makes us really happy though, and is a total bonus on the day, is a gorgeous venue, a fun couple and beautiful light.  Well, needless to say, we had all three of these on Kyra & Andrew’s wedding day.  Bonus!The day before Kyra and Andrew’s Webersburg wedding day there was a real Cape Town storm.  Trees had been uprooted, roads flooded, and even rooves blown off.  Unbelievably the day of the wedding was just beautiful.  Everything was crystal clear and the sun came out.  What a perfect day for a winelands wedding!

Kyra and Andrew are uncomplicated people.  They are clearly meant to be together.  You can see it in the way they look at each other.  There is so much love there. Andrew looked dashing and we just loved Kyra’s beautiful dress with lace bolero.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed canapes and drinks on the deck.  After a few family photos we did a real marathon couple shoot.  At this time of the year the sun disappears quickly.  We were literally chasing the sun.  Kyra and Andrew were super. Such an easy going couple and so much fun!  The reception was fun and festive too.

• One of the most beautiful venue settings we’ve worked at.  It literally lets the outside in.
• A bride with absolute German precision.  She was ready to walk down the aisle even before the guests were all seated!
• The ice cream vending machine.  Kyra and Andrew decided they were not going to have a wedding cake.  Instead there was an ice-cream machine and guests could choose their own toppings.
