Weltevreden Estate Wedding
Kat & Markus
This was our first time shooting a Weltevreden Estate Wedding. And we really hope it’s not our last. Tucked away in an almost residential part of Stellenbosch is this gem of a place. When Kat and Markus originally told us about their venue, they were so excited and now we could see why!
Coming up the tree lined drive of Weltevreden Estate, the historic manor house peaks through the branches. You are met by a beautiful lily pond which seems like a great spot to just ponder. Quirky art pieces and sculptures are scattered about the estate. They seem to pop up in the most interesting of places. My favourite has to be the guy submerged on his back in the river. I literally did a double take, thinking someone had fallen in!
The reception itself took place in a lovely old barn. It creates such a rustic atmosphere, and perfect for more intimate weddings.
Now that we’ve raved about the venue, let’s tell you a little about the real stars of this Weltevreden Estate wedding.
Kat and Markus. We first met these two lovelies when we did their colourful Hout Bay engagement shoot. After spending just that short time with them, we knew that their wedding day would be amazing. Some people just give off that kind of vibe. Kat’s joy is infectious, and so is her smile. She’s one of those people who literally oozes happy positive energy. Markus is gentle, kind and we love his sense of humour too. They make such a phenomenal team!
Just for the record, Kat and Markus had one of the cutest first dances EVER! When you scroll through the images, imagine playing in the background, The Epilogue from La La Land. Maybe you just had to be there to appreciate it.
Kat and Markus. You two are just amazing. We are so grateful that our paths crossed, and that we could play a small part in your journey. We hope you love your images. Your Weltevreden Estate wedding was everything a wedding should be and more!

Selma and Andre, ever since Markus and I secured you as our photographers, we never had any doubts that you two will be the magic of our wedding. Thank you for capturing our day, it would not have been the same without you two. I can’t find enough words to express how much I love these photos, not only because of how aesthetically pleasing they are, but also how you have managed to capture every emotion and freeze them for us to savor forever. We can’t wait to work with you again and capture the rest of our lives together with you!
