This West Coast Paternoster wedding was definitely one for the books. An absolutely PERFECT day! And guess what – NO WIND! What a beautiful spring day on the west coast celebrating the union of two people who are head over heels in love.

When an architect and an interior designer get married, you have a winning recipe. But not only is it a perfect career match, these two souls were definitely meant for each other. And I am sure it was written in the stars that their paths were destined to cross.

Mieke and Jan Adriaan are from up country, but decided they would love to have their wedding in the beautiful fishing village of Paternoster. It’s not hard to see why. The little town certainly has a charm not found anywhere else. With a bit of imagination, you could almost be on a little Greek Island.

The venue for Mieke and Jan Adriaan’s West Coast Paternoster wedding was Gaatjie Restaurant.

What a lovely little spot, right on the beach. Not only is the setting amazing, but the food was unbelievable too! It’s such a perfect place for a small intimate wedding or function.

Mieke is so talented. She designed all of the gorgeous wedding stationery herself. It complimented the simplistic light décor perfectly. After all, who needs anything else when you have a rustic little building with the ocean as your back drop!

From the bride: ” I would really like to thank the chef from Die Gaatjie for the lovely cuisine. Valmé and her mother Wilma from Die Gaatjie for organizing all the decor, cake, the lovely venue and their hospitality towards my people for the weekend and my guests on the wedding day. I would also like to thank the musicians. Olga and Babette from Zest Music, for keeping our guests entertained and for setting the vibe we wanted for the wedding. Then we also would like to thank Dorette from De Linden Boutique Hotel, for all her efforts to make the day so special for me. She went out of her way to accommodate me to get ready for the wedding. As well as going the extra mile too create the perfect honeymoon suite. We really appreciated it. Then a great thanks to our parents for paying the biggest amount for the wedding and al our guests for spending money on traveling all the way to Paternoster to enjoy the special day with us. We love them all. Then last but not the least. We would like to thank André and Selma for being so chilled on our wedding day and for creating the funniest and lekkerste vibe for wedding photographs. We had great fun! And believe that the fotos will be amazing.”
