This Cape Town destination wedding at beautiful Zevenwacht Estate was the perfect setting for Lucy & David.

The Cape Winelands dished out a stunner of day. The guests, mostly from the UK were literally basking in the African sun. Cold ones in hand, shoes kicked off, they enjoyed the funky tunes supplied by the talented duo of Man with Music. We have not seen a happier bunch in ages!

THE VENUE FOR LUCY AND DAVID’S CAPE TOWN DESTINATION WEDDING

The quintessential view of the Cape Dutch manor house across the lake is the first scene that greets you upon arrival. It’s not hard to see why this lovely UK couple settled on Zevenwacht Estate as a destination wedding venue. It’s such a pretty setting. There’s also ample accommodation on the estate for guests too.

Lucy and David chose to have their ceremony in the forested area adjacent to the lake. The wedding reception venue is also tucked away amongst the trees. Canapés are enjoyed on the lawn area overlooking the lake.

THE COUPLE SHOOT

Lucy and David wanted to spend maximum time with their guests. We did a quick couple shoot during canapé time and then snuck out at golden hour. We’ve said it a million times, and we’ll say it a million more. If you want that extraordinary light, that makes wedding photographers loose their minds, just humour them and sneak out for a quick 20 minutes. You’ll thank them later.

We were lucky enough to have Lucy & David in front of our lenses for an engagement shoot. We knew these two would be a treat to photograph on their wedding day. And they were.

WHAT WOULD A CAPE TOWN DESTINATION WEDDING BE WITHOUT A PARTY?

One thing we have learned as wedding photographers in Cape Town is that UK couples and their guests love to party. And they party hard. It’s never happened before that we were still there for the last song of the evening. We literally packed up with the dj. Let’s just say the last few photos are censored.
