Idiom Wines Wedding

Kerri & Chris

Three cheers for this Idiom Wines Wedding. For anyone following Kerri & Chris’ story, it seemed almost too good to be true when the day actually arrived! After numerous postponements and travel bans, Kerri & Chris finally made it to South Africa to celebrate their special day.

Views for days at Idiom Wines

Kerri & Chris’ Idiom Wines wedding day started off at the Spanish Farm Guest lodge in Somerset West. What a stunning location for the bride and groom to get ready in. Tucked high up on the slopes of the Heldeberg Mountains, the views seem to go on forever. And if it’s views they were after, Idiom Wines could not have been a better choice as a wedding venue.  We are so lucky to be wedding photographers in Cape Town.  We get to experience so much of the beauty we get to call home.  From weddings in the inner city, to beach vibes and gorgeous wine estates.

We knew these two would be a great in front of our cameras. We met up with them just two weeks before their Idiom Wines wedding to do a beach engagement shoot. They were total naturals and it was such a treat being in their company. It was no different on their wedding day.

Why doing  a first look & family photos before the ceremony is a great idea

Kerri and Chris opted to do the family photos at the guest house before heading to the ceremony. It made so much sense. We did one big group photo at the venue. Guests could then just chill during canape hour and enjoy each other’s company as well as the stunning scenery.

We also did a first look as well as part one of the couple shoot at Spanish Farm Guest lodge. This allowed Kerri and Chris to spend more time with their guests after the ceremony. Then just before sunset and whilst guests started making their way into the venue, we did part two.

If you’ve never been to Idiom wines, you are totally missing out. It must be one of the venues with THE most gorgeous setting. On one side the rugged mountains, and the other views for days. Just add our gorgeous couple to the mix and the scene is perfect.

The reception was a laid back affair. No dancing or formalities, but rather a lazy 3 course dinner shared with those nearest and dearest to them.

Kerri & Chris, all we can say is that it was so worth the wait. You two are incredible and so perfect for each other. Thank you for choosing us to photograph your special Idiom Wines wedding day.
