LAURA AND AMY’S INTIMATE FRANSCHHOEK DESTINAION WEDDING DAY

Laura and Amy probably chose one of the hottest days of the year for their wedding. Having left the UK in pretty cold weather, Cape Town and more specifically Franschhoek, definitely gave them a hot and sunny welcome!

Laura and Amy did not want a traditional wedding day. They specifically searched for locations that were not wedding venues. What was important to them was that the location would be unique, and that it would offer enough accommodation for their family and friends. The Cape Farmstead was perfect! No frills, fuss and décor for Laura & Amy. Instead, they wanted a long table with seats occupied by their nearest and dearest, all enjoying a celebratory feast. Good music, good food and lots of love all around. After all, isn’t this the perfect recipe for a joyous occasion.

The ceremony took place with the Berg River as a backdrop. We’ve seen brides walk down the aisle to bagpipes, string quartets and the like, but this one won first prize. A boom box! Priceless!

THE WEDDING FEAST

Everyone enjoyed canapés around the pool before sitting down at the long feast table on which the most sumptuous dishes were laid out . It felt as if we were part of a movie set, something akin to “Like Water for Chocolate.” Watching the wedding guests having a good time made us realize that everything about Laura and Amy’s intimate Franschhoek destination wedding epitomizes what is really important in a marriage. To be true to yourselves, to have fun and to treasure those close to you.
