Bon Cap Winter Wedding

Lauren & Adrian

Shooting a Bon Cap winter wedding is always such a treat.  The seasons bring change to the scenery and it’s always exciting to see how the valley is dressed for the occasion.

THE STARS OF THIS BON CAP WINTER WEDDING

Lauren and Adrian are nature lovers.  They spend loads of time outdoors, so Bon Cap Guest Farm and Wedding Venue was the perfect setting for them.  Set in a beautiful valley on the edge of the little Karoo, the views are magnificent.  Lauren is an equine vet, so the friendly horses on the farm next door made a perfect backdrop for the couple shoot.

Lauren and Adrian chose simple, rustic décor with splashes of purples, greens and pinks.  We loved the cute torchlights which were wedding favours for the guests.

Both Lauren and Adrian did their preparations at Gannakop Guesthouse just two minutes from Bon Cap.  Emotions were running high and the odd few tissues came in very handy!

The ceremony took place in the underground barrel room.  It’s such a romantic setting, and definitely one of the selling points for a Bon Cap Wedding.  We loved the beautiful ring ceremony blessing.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed canapes.  Lauren and Adrian joined them for a while and did the cutting of the gorgeous “cheese tower.” As it was an overcast day, our light disappeared rather quickly.  We had a lovely stop at the paddocks.   Lauren and Adrian did a little horse whispering making some new friends.  Sadly most of the spring flowers had closed due to the low light and cloud cover, but we managed to find a small patch of little pinkies.  The wind was icy, and Adrian was well prepared with his green beanie.  He reckons he spends 90% of his time with a beanie on, so that was pretty much him during the couple shoot!

The wedding reception was festive and fun.  As usual the Bon Cap wedding team did an outstanding job with the food.  When it was time for us to leave, it seemed the party was really heating up and everyone was having a great time!

Thank you Lauren and Adrian for choosing us to photograph your Bon Cap winter Wedding day!  You two are very special people, and we have really enjoyed getting to know you both!

WHAT WE LOVED ABOUT LAUREN & ADRIAN’S SPECIAL DAY

  • Real laughter and real fun and real people!
  • Being ‘non horsey’ people and in fact quite scared of them, and seeing how gentle and beautiful the interaction was between them and the wedding couple.
  • The cute little torches that were given as wedding favours
  • Any wedding that has a few tears is always a goodie!
  • The Eagle flying up high as we turned down the dirt road to Bon Cap.  Special significance to the groom especially.

Such gorgeous photos. Lauren you looked amazing. Would have loved to have shared this day with you but you were in our thoughts. Congrats to you both!!!!

  • Thank you very much for doing such a wonderful job Selma and Andre! It was difficult for me to choose a photographer being an avid photographer myself, but I can honestly say I’m very glad to have chosen you guys. The results are exactly as I expected. Not always an easy task with weather that didn’t play the game with us. You were both a pleasure to work with and several of our guests said how “cool” you were. Of course you were, we wouldn’t have invited the “uncool” people!! But in all seriousness, I am very impressed and walk away not only a satisfied customer, but also having made two new friends.

To anyone else reading this: top quality work, not heading the faded, washed out route so many amateur photographers go. Selma and Andre can make the grumpiest of people laugh and blended in to the wedding as guests and were hardly even noticeable. The subjects looked natural and indeed, we did our thing, they did theirs. Professional, no doubt.

Awwwhhhh Adrian. Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean a lot to us. We think you guys are just as cool, and yes, we also feel like you are a little more than just ‘clients.’
