This Cape Town proposal photoshoot was pretty wild. It was a foam party of note with the cutest couple and their families to cheer them on!

CHECK THE TIDES AND THE PHASES OF THE MOON!

We’ve been photographers in Cape town for nearly two decades now. We mostly always check the tides. We make sure to shoot on a beach we know will allow for a bit of space, even when the tide is high. What we didn’t bargain for was the crazy spring tide and wild seas! In hindsight, this Cape Town proposal photoshoot rates as one of our all time favourite shoots ever!

THE STARS OF OUR CAPE TOWN PROPOSAL PHOTOSHOOT

Kaylee and Garreth, all the way from The States were on holiday in South Africa with their families. The secret plan was executed weeks before. As the two of them walked onto the beach at Blouberg, the families held back a bit. Garreth aksed the all important question.  Of course Kaylee said ‘yes!” This was followed by a multitude of kisses, tears and oohs and aahs over the ring! After a few family photos, we got to photograph one of the most insane beach couple shoots we’ve ever done!

A GIANT BUBBLE BATH

We had a spectacular surge of ocean foam as a backdrop to our shoot.  This weird and wonderful phenomenon is caused when storms roll in.  The ocean is agitated by wind & waves leading to an insane amount of sea foam.  This combination along with spring tide resulted in a giant bubble bath!  It certainly was not the average backdrop for a couples shoot in Cape Town!
