Chapman’s Peak Proposal

Meekaeel & Samiya

This Chapman’s Peak Proposal started with a simple what’s app conversation. Meekaeel was coming to Cape Town on business, and his girlfriend, Samiya was tagging along. Little did she know that this would be one of the most epic trips of her life!

BEHIND THE SCENES PLANNING FOR THIS CHAPMAN’S PEAK PROPOSAL

We secretly planned for weeks. Meekaeel went through a range of emotions from nervous excitement, to disappointment dealing with venues. He was adamant that he wanted a Chapman’s Peak proposal.  Somehow things just weren’t coming together. At one stage, I was almost sure he’d just cancel it all. Enter Lisl from Hygge. She got the ball rolling (literally and figuratively) bringing Bubble House of Maria on board. What an epic set up this turned out to be!

CAPE TOWN, THE PERFECT CITY FOR A PROPOSAL

Imagine popping the question with the Hout Bay Sentinel as a back drop, then having a romantic picnic in a bubble amidst historical ruins? Having a destination proposal in Cape Town means you can do this and so much more! Not hard to see why the mother city is fast becoming a favourite for getting engaged.

We digress. Meekaeel had a cunning plan for his Chapman’s Peak proposal. A fake qr code led the unsuspecting lady of the moment to a website.  After a bit of an historical blurb, the next prompt demanded her full attention.  This is when Meekaeel went down on one knee asking the all important question. OF COURSE she said YES!

We laid back for a few moments letting these two bask in the glow of their new status. Then it was photo shoot time, followed by surprise number 2. We headed up to the old East Fort ruins where the bubble house was set up. Meekaeel and Samiya enjoyed some delectable treats and celebrated with bubbly. We ended the day off adventuring through the muddy streams to get to the ruins.

Meekaeel and Samiya, we could not think of a better way to have spent a Saturday afternoon than photographing this small chapter of your love story in Cape Town.
