Choosing Cape Town as a wedding destination

Thinking of getting married in Cape Town? Well, then we have some good news for you.  Cape Town and the Western Cape are blessed with the most glorious of weather.

On average Cape Town boasts 2993 hours of sunlight per year.  Yes, you heard right!  That gives you an average of 8 hours and 11 minutes of sunshine per day!  And that dear friends, means that if you are getting married in Cape Town, you have SO MUCH more time to enjoy your special day.

This brings us to the next point.  All too often we’ve seen timelines which just don’t make sense.  The day seems rushed, nerves are shattered, and everyone seems to be racing against some invisible clock.  The bride and groom rush down the aisle, get showered in petals and disappear with the photographer.  No time for hugs and kisses, or that sip of much needed bubbly now that the formalities are over and the couple never even lay eyes on the pretty canapes that are being served.

Here’s a bit of advice.  And it can make all the difference to your enjoyment of your wedding day.  Why not spend time with your guests after the ceremony?

Even if you only mingle for 20 or 30 minutes, it gives you a chance to catch your breath and enjoy the company of your special people.

But here’s the REAL reason for us punting it.  It’s one of the times during a wedding day where your photographer is able to capture fun, spontaneous moments.  Often times when couples get their final set of images, these are their favourites.  No posing, just real and unscripted moments.  The just married couple exiting the ceremony.   Gran checking out your wedding dress and silently thinking to herself that you may be exposing too much skin.  You, showing off your wedding ring to friends ogling over it, and that big bear hug from your long lost family member from Australia whom you last saw at your eighteenth birthday.   Oh, and don’t forget the guest shenanigans.  These are all moments that look great on camera!
