This rainy Stellenbosch Muslim wedding got us all emotional. We’ve come a long way with Shehzaad since we first met him at a family wedding around 10 years ago.
THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN OF THIS RAINY DAY STELLENBOSCH MUSLIM WEDDING
Shehzaad is the perfect gentleman. Always looking out for the wellbeing of others and his kind hearted nature just makes you want to be in his presence. You can tell so much from someone in the way they treat others. Each time our paths crossed, we wondered why it was never Shehzaad’s wedding we were photographing, but rather that of family member or friend. And then one day the phone call came. Shehzaad had finally met the love of his life. Enter Firdaus. What a beautiful soul she is, both inside and out. It might sound clichéd, but they certainly are a match made in heaven! What an absolute honour and privilege it was when Shehzaad asked us to take his OWN wedding photos!
The wedding festivities leading up to this rainy day Stellenbosch Muslim wedding started on the Friday night. The mehndi was held at Firdaus’ family home. They’d organized a Bollywood themed party for family and friends. What a fun and festive evening with live entertainment. Singing, dancing and laughter all the way – just the right tone to set the mood for the weekend!
Firdaus looked like an Indian princess – wow! And Shehzaad looked absolutely dashing in his outfit from Dubai!
THE WEDDING DAY
On the day of Firdaus & Shehzaad’s rainy Stellenbosch Muslim wedding, we all woke up to a gloomy skies. What were the chances of rain in January? What, with water restrictions and all, it was pretty much zero. But that’s what we got! There were showers of blessings for Firdaus and Shehzaad. It was literally pouring down for most of the day, and in fact, the rain only stopped when we got to the reception venue. But this was not going to dampen their spirits, or ours. We had so much fun during our couple shoot at Clouds Estate!
The reception was held in the Stellenbosch town hall. What a lovely olde school venue!
Firdaus & Shehzaad, you are both very dear to us. We hope to stay in touch for a long time still, and that we’ll get to see you at many more family functions in the future. Thank you so much for choosing us to document your most special Stellenbosch wedding. It was hard to narrow down the photos, but these are some of our favourite moments!

From walking through the ocean to a magical day in the rain..Some say that they’ll walk through water for us, while others pledge that they’ll always be there on a rainy day, but gosh… you two amazing souls have shown us all of this and more. It goes without saying that the bond we share extends way beyond all the weddings and functions we’ve been together at. Your energy, love and absolute fabulous characters are attributes that make us all adore you both so much! There’s never a dull moment, no matter what the obstacle may have been.
